When you created your online marketing strategy, you were probably envisioning people seeing your website, your content, your ads, and your social media via their desktop computers.
Five years ago, that would have been true for the majority of viewers.
Today, however, it’s a different story. The huge popularity of mobile devices, like smartphones and tablets, has created a new imperative for business owners that want to do well online.
There are 1.2 billion mobile web users worldwide. It is estimated that mobile Internet users will outnumber desktop Internet users this year.
What do you need to do to adapt your online marketing strategy to keep up with this mobile trend?
For starters, you need a website that looks good on a mobile device – that means having what is called a “responsive design”. You should also consider targeting Google Ads to mobile users, and optimizing your content to be appealing from a phone screen (think more images, larger fonts, smaller paragraphs, etc.).
Mobile is no longer “coming”. It’s here. Is your business ready?
